There is no prior experience or training necessary for any of our student positions – we train you as you learn! We do not ask for or require letters of recommendation as part of our applications. It is encouraged to apply early as we review applications and offer interviews on a rolling basis.
Required qualifications for all LSS student positions
- Be an enrolled undergraduate student during the employment period
- Be & remain in good academic standing. GPA requirements are listed in the position descriptions below
- Attend required training dates during Weeks 0 & 1 of each quarter and any weekly meetings as required for some positions
- Work in person to host shifts/sessions/meetings
- Demonstrate empathy towards other students
- Demonstrate having a growth mindset – We are all about constantly learning and growing and expect the same for our student staff
- Demonstrate an understanding of and alignment with LSS values, including educational equity
Student Office Assistant (SOA)
SOAs are the front line of our office! SOAs regularly support LSS staff and tutors in administrative tasks and staff our front desk.
