Unable to find a session for your class? Fill out our Availability Form! Requests will be considered up until Week 8 of each quarter.
Our programs
Group Tutoring Services
Large Group Tutoring is a drop-in, out-of-class practice session where up to 15 students work together on practice problems, review key concepts, and prepare for exams.
Small Group Tutoring offers a more intimate setting, typically with 4–6 students, allowing for deeper discussion and more tailored support.
Study Hall & Language Conversation Tables
Study Hall is an additional drop-in support program offered for specific subjects. The tutor roams the room and helps students individually with problems or encourages students to group up.
Conversation Tables support language courses by providing a drop-in space to practice conversing. Tutors facilitate conversations between students at multiple levels of language proficiency.
Peer Success Coaching & Workshops
Learning Support Services supports UCSC undergraduate students’ academic success through two key programs: Peer Success Coaching and the Successful Slug Workshop Series. These programs offer students the skills, strategies, and personalized support they need to thrive in their academic journey at UCSC and beyond, by using science-backed practices for effective learning and personal growth.
Individual services for DRC affiliates
Learning Support Services offers individual tutoring specifically for DRC (Disability Resource Center) affiliates who benefit from personalized academic support. These one-on-one sessions are designed to provide focused assistance tailored to your unique learning needs and course content.

TutorHub is our sign-up system where you can find tutoring sessions, coaching meetings, learn about upcoming workshops, and find the schedule for drop in study hall hours.
How to sign up for LSS services
Sign up dates for services (Fall, Winter, Spring):
- Initial sign ups: Wednesday of Week 1
- All student sign ups: Friday of Week 1
- Services begin: Sunday of Week 2
Sign ups for Small Group Tutoring and Peer Success Coaching close at the start of Week 8
Sign up dates for services (Summer):
- All student sign ups: Monday of Week 1
- Services begin: Wednesday of Week 1
1. Log in to LSS TutorHub using your CruzID Gold.
2. TutorHub has 3 widgets – Group Tutoring, Study Hall & Language Conversation Tables, and Peer Success Coaching & Workshops. Follow the instructions below to sign up for each service:
Group Tutoring Services
Select the Widget: Find a Tutoring Session
Time: Find first available immediately
Select a Class: Select the course you want to find tutoring for (ex. BIOL105 01). The numbers following the course are the section number (ex. 01 or 02)
Study Hall & Language Conversation Tables
Select the Widget: Find a Study Hall or Language Conversation Table
Time: Find first available immediately
Schedule an appointment for other services: Select the specific Study Hall or Conversation Table you want to sign up for
Peer Success Coaching & Workshops
Select the Widget: Find a Coaching Session or Successful Slug Workshop
Time: Find first available immediately
Schedule an appointment for Academic Coaching: Select either LSS Peer Success Coach or Successful Slug Workshop
3. Select Search. The next available session will pop-up. Here you can find information about the time, location, group size, modality of your session, the type of session, and information about the tutor or coach. Select the appointment that fits your schedule best.
4. Review the appointment information and select Confirm. You will receive a confirmation email from TutorHub for your appointment.
